Ponseti Abduction Bar Splint

The Ponseti Abduction Bar Splint is used primarily for the treatment of clubfoot according to the Ponseti method. The splint was developed by Dr. Ponseti. The complete orthosis consists of the Ponseti Abduction Bar, with Mitchell Ponseti AFO shoes mounted at both ends. By using this orthosis, the feet are maintained in the necessary abducted position and at shoulder-width apart, which preserves the correction achieved during the pre-treatment and helps prevent recurrence.

The splint can be easily attached and removed from the Mitchell Ponseti AFO shoes using the patented “Quick Clip” system. This makes handling much easier, for example, during dressing changes or when placing the child in a high chair or shopping cart.

Three splint sizes are available, each with 10° and 15° of dorsal extension. Additional accessories include splint cushions in two sizes (13 cm and 20 cm), available in dark blue, light blue, and pink.
