SwitchTrainer is an innovative learning application specifically designed to teach users how to use single- or two-stage button controls (switches) easily and effectively. It is particularly aimed at beginners, people with motor impairments, as well as educators and therapists who wish to promote assisted communication and accessible operating concepts. With SwitchTrainer, users can use the touchscreen directly as an input method for scan operation. This eliminates the need for external buttons, making it much easier to get started and allowing for flexible use of the app. Users can thus intuitively gain their first experience with the so-called “scanning technique”—an important method in assisted communication.
