Tübingen Hip Flexion Brace
by Ottobock
If your baby has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, a developmental delay in the hip socket, your doctor will explain the appropriate treatment methods and the duration of the treatment. The Tübingen hip flexion splint, developed by Prof. Dr. Bernau, provides the best conditions for your child's hip joint to mature fully and without complications. The most favorable hip position for maturation is the so-called "squat position," which is the same position the child assumes in the womb before birth.
The splint bends your baby's hips at an angle of over 90° and gently spreads them. Although this may seem unusual at first, it is merely an extension of the prenatal phase. This allows your baby's hips to mature under the same favorable conditions as in the womb.
