Due to its material (a glass-carbon fiber composite) and its special design, the WalkOn Flex is particularly suitable when more flexibility in the ankle and knee joints is needed. If sufficient residual muscle strength is present, the WalkOn Flex will also provide excellent support for your child on uneven terrain.
WalkOn Lateral Junior
The WalkOn Lateral supports foot lifting during the swing phase, making walking safer and reducing the risk of tripping and falling. This ankle-foot orthosis is made from modern carbon fiber prepreg material, which is very lightweight. A carbon spring runs along the back, from the Achilles tendon to the calf. Users with residual muscle strength are supported in their walking movement by the WalkOn Lateral. During toe-off, the orthosis releases previously stored energy, making walking smoother. Additionally, it helps stabilize the ankle joint at the same time.
WalkOn Reaction Lateral Junior
The WalkOn Reaction Lateral supports foot lifting during the swing phase, making walking safer and reducing the risk of tripping and falling. Additionally, due to its special design, the WalkOn Reaction Lateral also supports the knee joint. If the foot-lowering muscles are also impaired, your child will benefit from the high energy return of the orthosis, which is released during the foot’s rolling motion. This helps make walking more natural again.
WalkOn Reaction Junior
The WalkOn Reaction Junior is designed specifically for children with mild neurological impairments of the lower limbs. It offers greater support overall compared to conventional orthoses in this area. The risk of tripping and falling decreases, and movement patterns improve. This is particularly beneficial for children who require stronger support for knee extension.

Die Begeisterung war zuerst sehr groß´ weil plötzlich wieder so viel ging. Allerdings sollte man wissen, dass andere zuvor nicht genutzte Muskeln erstmal hochtrainiert werden müssen damit das Hilfsmittel optimal funktioniert. Bei neuromuskulären Erkankungen kann das schwierig und sehr schmerzhaft sein, denn imm Fall meiner Tochter bekam auch diese Ersatzmuskelfunktion immer größere Probleme. Wirklich zum freien Gehen konnte sie das Hilfsmittel nach einer Trainingsphase höchstens ein paar Tage nutzen, danach nur noch mit Gehunterstütung. Aufgrund des Krankheitsverlaufs konnte sie die Orthesen nach ca 1,5-2 Jahren gar nicht mehr zum Gehen nutzen, sondern nur noch um den Rollstuhltransfer eigentändig zu gestalten. Wir hatten einfach Pech mit dem Krankheitsverlauf. Das Hilftmittel hat meiner Tochter unglaublich viel Freiheit und Freude gegeben, aber auch oft zu selbstüberschätzung geführt, weil die Carbonfederung viel Energie in die Bewegung zurückgibt und man scheinbar noch fit ist, bis plötlich absolut gar nichts mehr geht. Die Hauptkritik meiner Tochter war, dass sie durch das arbeitende Carbon unter der Fußsole von den Orhtesen ständig starke krampfähnliche Schmerzen in den Füßen bekommen hat. Ansonsten war es ihr absolutes Lieblingshilfsmittel.
