Elina's undercarriage

Elina, 2009-2024, was always cheerful and cheerful and gave her name to our outdoor forge. She had the incurable disease MLD (metachromatic leukodystrophy), one of the so-called very rare diseases with only around 100 people affected in Germany.

In this genetic defect, the protective sheathing (myelin) of the nerve tracts in the body is destroyed. Far too short a time to make sense of. Elina's disease broke out in 2014 when she was 4 years old. Even a bone marrow transplant carried out in 2015 was unfortunately no longer able to prevent the progression of MLD.

Elina passed away peacefully forever on 23.02.2024.

Throughout her life, Elina loved being outdoors in nature, enjoyed cycling, the beach, the Wadden Sea and especially the forest. We very quickly realized that people with disabilities reach their limits everywhere in nature because natural barriers are too great to actively participate.

This cannot and must not be the case!

With Elina's Fahrwerk high-quality outdoor products made in Germany, we were able to give Elina and many other people with disabilities carefree, barrier-free access to nature again.
Elina's Fahrwerk will continue to exist as Elina's heritage and legacy, and our aim is to continue to offer many more affected people a piece of freedom and quality of life.
