Rifton Equipment
Rifton Equipment has been around since 1977. The company started as an offshoot of Community Playthings, a leading maker of furniture and equipment for early childhood settings. Back then, designers from Community Playthings visited a home for children with disabilities in Connecticut. A therapist asked whether they could custom-build a chair for one of the children. Over the following months, more and more similar requests came in, and before long the designers and workers were dreaming of an entirely new line of equipment. That's how Rifton Equipment began.
Today, Rifton makes adaptive equipment for children, including therapy chairs, standers and gait trainers. Each product is developed together with therapists, made by hand in the USA and thoroughly tested before launch. Every piece is adjusted to fit the individual child. Replacement parts are available, even for older models.
