Orthoses and Prosthetics
Amputations of limbs are rare in children. However, orthotic devices are more frequently required due to limb deformities. The primary focus is on restoring the ability to walk using leg prostheses or orthoses. In any case, the need for devices that can be adjusted to accommodate growth is a unique consideration in pediatric care. We place great importance on our orthotists establishing a good rapport with your child, as we often care for our young patients over a period of many years.
Corrective Orthoses
Modern corrective orthoses are characterized by a precise fit, ease of use, and effective results. We provide children with orthoses tailored to their specific needs, depending on their condition, such as scoliosis or head positioning for infants.
Orthoses Based on Sensory-Motor Principles
For many years, we have been manufacturing dynamic foot orthoses for children with sensorimotor impairments—based on established concepts. The goal is to improve the children’s body awareness and motor coordination. To this end, we specifically apply sensorimotor principles and—when necessary—corrective and guiding orthotic elements. We actively involve treating physicians and therapists in the process and, if needed, facilitate contact with specialized facilities.
Custom Seating and Positioning Systems
If your child needs special adaptations for a wheelchair, bed, or car seat, we handcraft custom seating and reclining shells. A detailed consultation forms the foundation: Together, we determine the intended use, function, and accessories—always tailored to your child’s individual needs. Thanks to our flexible manufacturing process, we can meet nearly any requirement—providing optimal support in daily life and during therapy.
Rehabilitation Technology
Whether it’s a small adjustment to a child’s bicycle or a complex solution—we have the right specialist for every challenge.
We offer solutions for: wheelchairs, special-purpose bicycles, walkers & walking frames, rolling benches, standing frames, and daily living aids with clever features
. Together with you and your child, we develop a customized care package—tailored to your home environment and individual needs. Existing assistive devices are thoughtfully incorporated or adapted. We will, of course, handle the coordination with your health insurance provider for you.
Custom-Made Special Insoles
Functional insoles for children always present a special challenge for us. The process always begins with a thorough analysis of the specific needs. We then discuss the goals of the treatment and design each insole individually.
Burn Bandages
Custom-made special bandages and suits are essential for the effective treatment of scar tissue on the skin following burns. Custom-measured and fitted with specially manufactured pressure inserts made from various materials, they can partially reduce uncontrolled scar growth or even reverse scar tissue proliferation. The secret lies in the precise regulation and positioning of pressure on the burn scars. Specially trained professionals perform these treatments at our facility.
