The suitable rehab buggy

The perfect rehab buggy – key factors

Seek professional advice
Consult a therapist, a medical supply store, or a specialized clinic (SPZ) to find the best options for your child together.

Physical needs of your child
Pay attention to stability, adjustable footrests, and safety belts to prevent incorrect posture and ensure safety.

Adjustability of the buggy
An ideal rehab buggy should be adjustable to meet your child's changing needs over time. Ensure that the buggy:

  • Verstellbare Sitz- und Rückenlehnenpositionen

  • Verstellbare Fußstützen und Armlehnen

  • Kantelung

Mobility and handling
Pay attention to weight, maneuverability, and ease of folding to ensure the buggy is practical for daily use and travel.

Comfort for your child
The buggy should be well-padded and include sun protection to ensure your child's comfort.

Testing and fitting
Test the rehab buggy in person to make sure it provides the desired comfort and necessary support.

Consultation and reviews
It’s helpful to exchange experiences with other parents who have used rehab buggies. They can offer valuable insights on which models work best and what aspects are most important in choosing the right one. Be sure to check the reviews on FiNiFox for more information on rehab buggies.

The community highlighted the following aspects when choosing the right rehab buggy:

Rehabuggy-Size

My daughter has a growth hormone deficiency, which makes her small, so only a few rehab buggies were suitable for her. We chose the HOGGI Bingo Evolution Mini.

Comfort and Practicality

When selecting the rehab buggy, two factors were important to me:

  1. That my child could sit comfortably in different situations and be positioned accordingly. This also includes suspension.
  2. That the rehab buggy fits in our car.
In the end, we opted for a compromise between comfort and practicality. A buggy with better suspension would have been too wide for the trunk. After all, what's the point of a comfortable rehab buggy if I can't transport it?

Bicycle Trailer Option and Support

It was very important to us that we could also use the rehab buggy as a trailer for our bike. Additionally, it was essential that our daughter was well-supported (upper body, head, hips) due to her hypotonia.

Off-road Capability & Motor Drive

We have the 4WHEELER from KFN, and we're more than satisfied.
It's suitable for all terrains, as the motors are integrated into the wheels and thus protected from dirt.
Whether sand, snow, or mud – it doesn't matter. The motor is powerful, and the battery lasts long.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have a reimbursement code and must be paid out of pocket. We would buy it again without hesitation.

Seat Reclining, Face to Face

The ability to recline the seat was crucial for us when selecting the buggy for rest positions. Additionally, we have the option to push our child either facing forward or facing us.

Aesthetics

Besides functionality, the appearance was also very important to us – it had to look like a regular children's buggy.
