KUBIVENT is an owner-managed family business based in Swabia. For over 60 years, it has been one of the leading providers of pressure-relief mattresses, wheelchair cushions, and positioning aids. The company operates in an innovative, sustainable, and reliable manner and stands for genuine quality made in Germany.

Invented from personal experience

Founder Richard Stelzer developed painful pressure ulcers during a long hospital stay. While still in his hospital bed, he developed the idea that continues to shape everything to this day: many individual foam cubes in a flexible mesh. This design distributes pressure more effectively, relieves pressure on the tissue, and wicks away heat and moisture with every movement.

This led to the creation of Germany’s first anti-decubitus mattress, today’s KUBIVENT TOUCH-Konzept®. In the late 1960s, KUBIVENT brought the products to market in collaboration with Heidelberg University Hospital. Today, they are used in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
